The art of detailing on display at the Auto and Moto d'Epoca show - Interview with Marco Mattioli

"Detailing is a discipline, I like to call it a discipline," stresses Mattioli, through which "certain steps designed to have maximum product performance and maximum safety, both in terms of ease of use and in terms of paint safety, are explained." Because, as the MA-FRA Manager himself points out, a cloth or glove that is not well rinsed can also produce those so-called "scratches," and efforts are made to prevent them.
MA-FRA's spearhead in cleanliness and attention to the vehicle is Labocosmetica. A year after its introduction, Marco Mattioli, stresses that it is "a division of MA-FRA, dedicated to this culture, this passion that is detailing." For detailers, there are precisely "cutting-edge" and high-performance products, such as those of "nanotechnology" or the "long-lasting sealants" mentioned on the occasion. A treatment can last a year or even longer, Mattioli again points out, and Labocosmetica was born as a division to propose usable products that would meet precise needs. Moreover, in case of a mistake, adds the MA-FRA manager, "nothing happens!" Because, he says, even if unpleasant halos are created, it can always be remedied and everything restored to its original shine.

Another important part is also training, through the Detailing School. "Specialized courses in the use and techniques of detailing," Mattioli then indicates, talking about the initiative that provides the technical foundations to carry out the work at its best.
Along with the term discipline, Marco Mattioli speaking about detailing also uses the expression "ISO certification," highlighting precisely the highest quality sought in each operation performed. The result is linked to specific steps: pre-washing, washing (with two buckets one dedicated to water and the other to a specific soap), decontamination, drying, then the choice may vary towards a paint correction or employing a protective. Several steps accomplished using precise techniques and with special attention, which then leads to a certain "exaltation," Mattioli himself hints, describing the enthusiasm of those who observe the result obtained at the end of each step.
